Visit Notes Screen Reference

Understand the visit-note timeline, note editor, AI summary cues, and the read-only rules after completion.

Before you start

  • You need inspection-wide narrative capture rather than asset- or defect-specific notes.

Expected outcome

You can keep visit narrative in the right place and know when note editing becomes read-only.

Inspection Visit Notes

  • Opens from inspection context or deep link.
  • Shows count, latest preview, timeline, and add-note entry. AI Summary requires connectivity and creates an editable public-note draft from visit evidence; it is not saved automatically.
  • Launches VisitNoteEditor.

Visit Note Editor

  • Large editor for public or private note text. Public notes can appear in reports and PDFs; private notes remain internal.
  • Becomes read-only once the inspection is complete; use admin if a completed visit's notes genuinely need correction.
  • A queued save is retained locally for a later sync attempt; it is not proof that the server accepted the note. Follow it in Sync Status and resolve any Pending, Failed, Blocked, or Conflict state. If the note is saved locally but could not be queued, the app warns you to contact support before relying on it elsewhere.
  • Returns to the note timeline instead of becoming a wider navigation hub.
