Inspection Workspace Screen Reference
Understand system discovery, the Assets, Checklist and Defects tabs, completion checks, and read-only completed state.
Before you start
- You are opening an accessible inspection rather than browsing only site history.
Expected outcome
You can keep the live inspection authoritative and move to signature with the required review.
Context and tabs
The context band shows the service, visit or certificate reference, site, system, scheduled time, assigned engineers, and GPS state.
| Tab | Current behavior |
|---|---|
| Assets | Review and mark registered assets; scan, add, bulk add, edit, or use specialist actions while the visit is editable. |
| Checklist | Record results and evidence; filter items; mark all or filtered items as pass; undo or refresh checklist structure. |
| Defects | Add and review faults; critical and major defects require photo evidence; available row actions can resolve, edit, or delete while editable. |
Visit notes and GPS can be captured before the system is known. Assets and Checklist remain in discovery state until you select an existing system or add the installed system.
Completion
- Complete & Sign becomes available after all checklist items have a result.
- The app then checks for unchecked assets and incomplete checklist state.
- If warnings remain, choose Review or explicitly Continue Anyway to Signature.
- A system is always required before completion.
Completed inspections do not accept further operational edits. They expose supported report and assistant follow-up, subject to feature access.
Specialist exits
The workspace can open QR scanning, Add System, Add/Edit Asset, Drop Test for supported assets, Signature, AI Chat, and the assistant panel. Availability depends on the inspection category, completion state, remote feature, and resolved capability.
Evidence capture, uploads, offline queue semantics, conflicts, and certificate handoff are covered in Evidence, Sign-off, and Certificates and Offline Sync, Search, and Settings.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | What to check |
|---|---|
| Assets or Checklist says it is locked | Bind the real installed system. |
| Complete & Sign is disabled | Complete every checklist item. |
| A major or critical defect will not save | Add required photo evidence. |
| Controls disappeared on a completed visit | Completed inspection data is read-only by design. |
