Engineer how-to
Stay calm when the signal or device is the problem.
The app is designed for real plant rooms and field conditions. Use sync awareness, search, and settings to keep work moving without losing trust in the record.
Work offline with confidence
- Continue the visit in the app even when signal drops. Deucalion is designed to preserve the local inspection state.
- Do not create parallel notes in other apps unless you absolutely have to. The inspection record should remain the authoritative working surface.
- When connectivity returns, review sync state rather than assuming the upload completed silently.
Use sync tools deliberately
- Check the sync indicator from the app header or the dedicated sync tools when you need confirmation that local work has reached the server.
- If uploads are pending, wait for a stable connection before assuming the office team can already see your finished work.
- Use draft management if you need to resume work later rather than repeatedly reopening half-finished records without context.
Use search and help when you need speed
- Use in-app search to jump to the right site, asset, defect, quote, or work order when tab navigation is slower than direct lookup.
- Use the Help screen when you need the built-in support links or the public docs hub at /docs.
- Use this public docs hub when you need a role-based guide instead of a short FAQ answer.
Review settings that affect daily work
- Use Settings for device behaviors such as biometric protection, app preferences, and other field-use controls.
- Use Profile as the access point for your account view, Help, and Settings.
- If a feature such as AI Assistant, Quotes, Work Orders, or Analytics does not appear, treat that first as an availability question rather than a device fault.
Availability note
AI Assistant, Quotes, Work Orders, and Analytics can be limited by your workspace plan or enabled features. Missing access is not always a sync problem.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | What to check |
|---|---|
| The office team cannot see your finished work | Check sync state first. A completed local record is not the same as a completed server upload. |
| The app looks normal but certain features are missing | Check whether the feature is gated for your account or organization before assuming the app is broken. |
| You cannot quickly find the site or asset you need | Use the search flow or QR tools instead of drilling through multiple screens manually. |
