Schedule Inspection Screen Reference
Create an inspection from site context, optionally copy the previous visit, and start now or schedule for later.
Before you start
- You have opened the form with a valid site.
- Your plan permits operational writes.
Expected outcome
You can create the correct inspection without mistaking the mobile shortcut for the office planner.
Entry and required context
The form opens from Dashboard, Sites, Site Details, Site Briefing, or System Details. A site is required. A system may be preselected or left for on-site discovery.
The form requires an industry/service type and records:
- assigned engineer where your role can choose one;
- six-month or annual inspection type;
- scheduled date and time;
- estimated duration, including a scheduler-prefilled value or custom minutes;
- reminder previews and next-inspection due date.
Only users with assignment authority can choose another workspace member. Otherwise the inspection remains assigned according to the supported self-assignment/server rules.
Clone from Previous
When the selected system has a completed inspection, Clone from Previous can copy its checklist results and asset statuses into the newly created inspection. Review the copied state against current site conditions; it is a starting point, not proof that conditions are unchanged.
Save choices
| Choice | Result |
|---|---|
| Start Inspection Now | Creates the inspection and replaces the form with the Inspection workspace. |
| Schedule for Later | Creates the inspection and returns to the previous screen. |
A field-created self-assigned record can be auto-deployed where the current scheduler contract permits it. This screen does not manage route order, arrival windows, crew capacity, day runs, or bulk deployment; use the Admin Scheduler for those operations.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | What to check |
|---|---|
| The form says the site link is invalid | Close it and reopen Schedule Inspection from a site record. |
| No service type is available | Confirm the site’s configured industries before creating the visit. |
| Engineer selection is absent | Your role does not have assignment authority; ask a scheduler manager to assign the visit. |
| Saving is read-only | An active write-enabled plan is required. |
