Defect Resolution Screen Reference
Understand defect-specific remediation work, annotation, voice notes, and status updates in the engineer app.
Before you start
- You need to work a defect directly rather than from the wider inspection screen.
- The source inspection is not completed when the defect needs to change.
Expected outcome
You can resolve or document an editable defect thoroughly and recognize when completed evidence is locked.
Main behaviors
For a defect whose source inspection is not completed, this screen:
- Moves a defect between Open, In progress, and Resolved, with resolution notes required by the focused flow.
- Adds photos from camera or library, opens them in the viewer, and supports annotation before saving evidence.
- Supports voice notes as part of defect evidence.
- Mark Resolved records the remediation on this defect; return to the inspection for wider checklist or completion work.
Completed-inspection boundary
After the source inspection is completed, the server rejects all defect edits and deletion. The defect may still open from search or linked context, but do not use its editing controls to record later remediation. Review the completed inspection or certificate as preserved evidence, and ask the office team to use a quote or separate work order for follow-up.
The engineer flow supports only Open, In progress, and Resolved. Deferred is an office-side status and is not an engineer option on this screen.
