Inspections Route Reference
Understand the inspection queue, create and detail dialogs, reassignment and rescheduling flows, and certificate or quote handoffs.
Before you start
- You need the office-side inspection queue rather than the field execution screen.
Expected outcome
You can review inspection records, adjust planning, and launch the right downstream certificate, system, or quote workflow.
What this route is for
Inspections is the office queue for creating, filtering, opening, rescheduling, reassigning, and reviewing inspection records after or around planner activity.
Visibility and capability notes
| Item | Details |
|---|---|
| Route id | inspections |
| Visibility | Customer-facing core route. |
| Capability notes | The route is broadly visible, while quote generation, certificate sending, or template choices may still depend on workspace features. |
| Direct inbound | Shell nav, dashboard, scheduler detailHref, map creation flow, site-scoped launches, global search, and activity links. |
Main regions, dialogs, and review surfaces
| Surface | What it does |
|---|---|
| Inspection list | Searchable, paginated queue with planning and outcome filters. |
| Create dialog | Creates a new inspection, including site-scoped creation paths. |
| Detail dialog | Shows overview, checklist groups, defects, visit notes, and downstream actions. |
| Secondary dialogs | Reschedule, reassign, send certificate, delete, and visit-note management workflows. |
Key actions
- Create a new inspection.
- Open Scheduling from the header when the planner is the better desk.
- Reschedule or reassign an inspection.
- Send a certificate and choose a PDF template.
- Download the certificate or the inspection report.
- Create or update visit notes.
- Generate a downstream quote.
Filters and URL state
| Param | What it controls |
|---|---|
q | Search |
status | Inspection status |
result | Latest outcome/result |
siteId | Site scope |
engineerId | Assigned engineer |
dateFrom, dateTo | Historical date range |
plannedFrom, plannedTo | Planning date range |
page | Pagination |
inspectionId | Open detail context |
create | Opens create mode |
- Search is debounced and the queue is paginated.
- Keep planned-date filters separate from historical date filters when reviewing future work.
Outputs and side effects
- Creates or updates inspection records and planning assignments.
- Sends or downloads certificate/report outputs.
- Creates downstream quote context with
generateFrom. - Defects and visit notes shown here shape later commercial and reporting behaviour.
Inbound links
- Shell
Inspectionsnavigation. #/schedulingjob detail links.#/map?siteId=...creation handoffs.- Site-scoped or activity-driven resource links.
Outbound links
#/scheduling#/quotes?generateFrom=...- PDF and report download actions
Indirect handoffs
System pendingis a valid planning state and does not mean the inspection failed to create.- Defects raised here later drive defect backlog review, quoting, and remedial work.
- Certificates and reports depend on both source data here and template behaviour elsewhere.
Troubleshooting
| Symptom | What to check |
|---|---|
| The inspection looks missing from the expected time slice | Confirm whether you meant the planned-date filters or the historical date filters. |
The record shows System pending | That can be intentional when the office planned the visit before the exact system was confirmed. |
| Certificate actions are not available | Check that the inspection is complete enough and that the right template or output permissions are available. |
| Quote creation opens the wrong context | Re-check generateFrom and the selected inspection id. |
