Help engineers prepare for the visit, work through weak signal, capture evidence, and confirm the office has the latest data.
Before you start
- The engineer has signed in on the device at least once.
- The job has been deployed and assigned to the engineer.
- The engineer knows which site and service type they are attending.
Expected outcome
The engineer can complete the visit, keep evidence tied to the right record, and confirm whether the latest work has synced back to the office.
Prepare before travel
- Sign in while you have a reliable connection.
- Open the dashboard and confirm the day run.
- Open the site before travel if you expect poor signal.
- Read site notes, briefing details, recent history, and assigned work.
- Check sync status before leaving the office or vehicle.
Work from the assigned job
- Open the assigned inspection or work item from the dashboard, day run, site, or inspections list.
- Confirm the site, system, and asset context before entering results.
- Record checklist answers, observations, defects, and visit notes in the app.
- Add photos where they explain condition, access, damage, or completion evidence better than text.
- Keep all notes and evidence inside Deucalion rather than splitting detail across camera roll, email, or messaging apps.
Work with weak signal
If signal drops during the visit:
- Continue the visit in the app when the record is already available locally.
- Avoid signing out while work is still waiting to sync.
- Do not delete and recreate the inspection to force a refresh.
- When connectivity returns, reopen sync status and confirm whether uploads are still pending.
- Tell the office if critical evidence or completion data is still waiting to sync.
Finish the visit
- Review required checklist items and defects before sign-off.
- Add final visit notes that explain anything the office or customer needs to understand.
- Capture signatures when the workflow requires them.
- Review the certificate or output preview before relying on it.
- Return to sync status and confirm the latest work has uploaded.
What the office should check after the visit
- Confirm the inspection appears complete.
- Confirm evidence and visit notes are visible.
- Confirm defects are in the expected state.
- Confirm the certificate or report reflects the latest field data.
- Wait for sync to finish before sending customer-facing outputs.
